Partly sore with a 100% chance of thunderstorms
Well the triathlon went off well, with only some mild soreness in the back of my calves, not doubt from the hilly portions of the run course. The weather has been a huge factor all weekend, we narrowly missed a downpour just after the race, and the start was basically in pea soup fog. I will expound on all the craziness of the weekend later, hopefully tonight, but we are heading out shortly to pick up Ann at O'Hare... her flight out of La Guardia has been delayed by 3 hrs due to the heavy storms that rolled across northern Illinois earlier today.
Quick highlights? Forgot my running shoes for the race... Jock came to the rescue.
No pool at all, it's been raining or threatening to rain all weekend.
John and Nancy (one of our neighbors) had a huge tree come down this morning in the storm.
Nana and Papa got off ok today after not feeling so well, then their brand-new car wouldn't start after getting gas in Belvidere. (they apparently got it running after a while, and are still safely on the road I assume)
Will check in more later to craft the entire triathlon tale in better prose... we're off to rescue Ann from the airport...
