A Weekend in Boston

Ann and I had a great 3 day escape to Boston this past weekend. I got us a last-minute deal on Travelocity and we scored direct flights from Milwaukee to Boston, plus a great room on the top floor of the Radisson in downtown Boston. Highlights include tours of the Samuel Adams brewery and Fenway Park, hiking the Freedom Trail through downtown Boston (which takes you by more than a dozen historic sites from the revolutionary days), and lots of great food and drink. It was a great time away from the girls, but we're glad to be home and with them again. Karen and Jock were kind enough to accommodate my last-minute request for babysitters, and it sounds like they had fun too while we were gone. We really liked the neighborhoods of Beacon Hill and North End, and we definitely got our "walk" on... we also got to know the "T" pretty well, Boston's subway system which was a great, inexpensive way to get around. Most of all, we got a chance to feed our jones for travelling, something we have always enjoyed doing and have done less of since the little ones arrived. We really enjoy travelling with them as well, and they have adapted well when we've taken them different places. But there's just some things you can't enjoy quite as much when the kids are around...
