If you know who sang that, you're my hero.
Anyway, it felt better to start with that one than the standard "On the road again" cliche.
Nevertheless, we are road tripping again as I type. Between a LED USB light on my laptop and a bluetooth connection via my phone, I'm surfing in the back of the minivan while Ann finishes off the trip to St Louis, with the girls quietly watching Air Buddies with their headphones on.
Techno-travel at its best. Ann's even becoming a fan of satellite radio and my new GPS, whom I've affectionately names Lara. She's got a British accent, and makes any right or left turn sound like a come hither invitation. She's the best.
Too bad she doesn't have any idea where the Culvers is on the south end of Springfield.
Ah well.
We're off to St Louis for a visit with the Chiers and Donahues, and most of all trivia night Saturday - with proceeds going to a scholarship in Tom Cella's name, Kim's brother.
Should be plenty of booze and good fun with our old friends - visiting the Gateway City never disappoints.
Clear roads, happy (for the most part) kids (sorry Meg, it's not fair is it?) and enough technology to keep anyone entertained...
ain't that America.

No, it is not fair.
Hope you had an awesome time!!!
p.s. We always stop at the Jimmy John's at the Joliet exit...you?
We never go past Joliet... we usually hit something in Springfield on the way down, then on the way home there's an exit loaded with options about 10 miles outside of St Louis.. just in time for the "I gotta go potty" routine, despite having left Kim and Jim's only 45 mins prior.
How 'bout Blagojevich, huh?
